Family Support Center
The Family Support Center offers healthy new options and opportunities to families and individuals in need. Staff use a strengths based model for working with families and individuals. We help our clients to identify their strengths and use those to help them meet their needs. Staff help families and individuals to identify goals and ways to reach them. Then, they link them with the necessary resources, provide support and encouragement, and help them think strategically about decisions. Staff may help folks to prepare a resume, get to the doctor, search for a job or apply for financial aid for college studies. Staff will link folks to such resources as education, employment services, child care, counseling, mental and primary health care, and transportation.

Our
GAP Program features Family Transition Advisors (pictured on right) who work with families who are on
K-TAP and are facing barriers to getting off of K-TAP.
The Family Transition Advisors are folks from the community
who are former welfare recipients and good resource people.
GAP is designed to help recipients of K-TAP access education, employment and other services that will improve their lives. Community Ministries works in partnership with the
Kentucky Department of Community Based Services to provide this program to the community.
